My Thought about the Course

To tell the truth, I don't know what we will learn in this course. I'm very curious about it. I'm from China. In my memory, Chinese classrooms tend to be very traditional. Our teachers seldom use technology when they are teaching, so it's a pity that I've never experienced any classes teached with IT.
However, it's very dramatic that my major was information system when I was in college. What I learned was mainly about how to design and make a software.Well, I always think this is a career for men. This is a career full of data. This is a process that lacks creativity. I couldn't find any interest in my past education experience, so I decided to came here and study education. I generally notice that there is a new industry in America which can combine education and technology. It's cool. It focus on how to develop educational productions by using technology. I feel very excited about that. I hope I can learn something about that in the course or at least I can get some inspiration from this course.

  1. Thats interesting that classrooms are still very traditional in China! Don't worry we are all learning this material at a similar pace. You will definitely get some inspiration from your classmates and the material.

  2. Jason F,

Apple has been a big leader in the world of integrating technology and the classroom. You may be ahead of the curve, seeing as how you do have a background in computer software knowledge and now you will have the other side of it and use the programs you know how to make, to work with the children.

  3. You're background experience is so inspiring to me. It is great that you were able to take your past experience and manipulate it in a way that makes a degree in education, and specifically this class in educational technologies, applicable to you. I am glad to have you with this class alongside of me and hope that together we can continue to build our repertoire of knowledge.

  4. Are the classrooms in China still traditional today or did you mean back when you where in school? Also I think that since you have the background in information systems this course will probably help you in finding those creative ways to incorporate technology in the classroom and maybe you can even share some of your computer knowledge to bring in another view point on how technology can be used in creative ways.

  5. It must take a huge leap of faith to come all the way to America and decide to go into education, and I definitely admire you for your interest in this field. I'm excited to hear more about your information systems background, as I have no knowledge on the subject at all. In fact, just looking at coding is intimidating for me. When you finish your degree are you more interested in designing educational programs, or would you like to be in the classroom?

  6. That is very interesting and bold that you went into information systems when your childhood did not involve much technology. It mut also be more interesting for you to jump from almost no technology in the classrooms, to a country that has been trying to incorporate them for a while now. ave you had any experience with SmartBoards as yet?
